Our Member Spotlight of the Month for March 2023 is Keda Brock. Keda was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Omega Tau Omega Chapter in the Spring of 2021. Keda is from Rochester, NY and is currently a Scientist and business owner. She has been married for almost 13 years. Keda’s role model is Katherine Johnson because she was a true trailblazer in paving the way for black women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). She was also an AKA.
Traveling, spa dates, reading fiction novels, relaxing at home, and interior decorating bring enjoyment to Keda’s life. One fact that people may not know about Keda is she is a first-generation college graduate. Keda is passionate about helping young women and girls build confidence and increase self-esteem (especially those in male-dominated STEM professions). She is also passionate about advocating for mental health awareness and treatment beginning at a young age. Keda’s biggest fear is not fully determining and living out her life’s purpose.
Keda’s favorite quote is, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of convenience and comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Keda, we celebrate you this month and thank you for all you bring to OTO!
