In September 2015, Danielle Lennon had the honor of being the 1st black District Teacher of the Year in Fort Mill School District's history. She was nominated as teacher of the year at Banks Trail Middle School based on her extensive experience, professional prowess, and unwavering commitment to students. After a rigorous process of interviewing, academic writing and professional observations, she was selected to serve as the face of the Fort Mill School District from 2015-2016. She traveled the state and local area to encourage teacher retention and earned her place in Fort Mill School District's history!
